In today’s fitness communities the “CORE” is becoming the new fad and the latest topics of infomercials. I’m telling you the core is here to stay for the rest of the eternity as well as the base product of the human body. Regardless of the goal, there are many benefits derived from performing core exercises and programs, from fat loss to improving our everyday activities. Its important to have the core benefits, and the following is why:

With fat loss being the most common goal of the everyday person and not just including health club members, the core is able to benefit these people in two certain ways. First, the core is the foundation of movement in the human body and with a strong base we can minimize the risk of injury and allow for higher intensity workouts which will allow us to burn more calories.

But sooner than later everyone will reach a plateau in their workout routine. But a core workout can break the rut because the majority of people haven’t been introduced to the training.

Even for muscle gain, the intensity can be increased to stimulate hypertrophy in the muscles. But, having a weak core can lead to injury and less size benefits if the body can’t handle the workload. Especially the load associated with gaining muscle. For example, if an athlete doesn’t have a strong core, the skill acquisition can’t be achieved the way it should.

Improving our regular activities that we perform everyday is also attained through a strong core. It equals a better work capacity and decreased chance of injury especially for your lower back. Which 80% of Americans have due to their desk jobs and commuter routes. A core program can and needs to be integrated into every fitness program and will yield optimal results for yourself.
